Scripture
"Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold I have told you." (Matthew 28:7)
Observation
One thing that I love about technology today – when you travel, you can never get lost; not if your car is equipped with a GPS navigational system. High-tech technology today is able to tap into signals from satellites positioned miles above the earth to provide a locator system that can precisely pinpoint any target below; an almost fool-proof means of finding your intended destination.
The Lord and His Holy Spirit act in the same manner, especially when we find ourselves lost in the midst of confusion and uncertainties, as did these women who came to look for Jesus' body, but found instead an empty tomb. Understanding their confusion, the angel gave them precise instructions as to where they would find Him who had already gone ahead to meet them. Following these instructions, they found Jesus exactly where the angel said He would be.
Application
One thing that I must confess – I don't rely upon God's GPS often enough. If I truly believe that the Lord sees the end from the beginning and knows the plans that He has for my life, there shouldn't be a day that goes by without activating His GPS, simply through prayer. Navigating through the maze of life's issues, can be compared to navigating through the LA freeway system, which I have foolishly attempted to do in the past without a GPS on board and brought myself to utter frustration sooner than expected. And I have done the same in life without God's GPS. Through His GPS, He becomes my navigator and simplifies the process by setting ahead of me the coordinates that I would need in order to weave my way through the intersections of life, to position myself so as not to fall outside the scope of His presence. And when I follow His steps, I will find Him exactly where He said He would be.
Prayer
Father, forgive me for not praying often enough, for not relying upon Your ways, but being too dependent upon my own ways. Guide me today in what I will need to do and where I will need to be in order that I may stay in step with the plans that You have for me.
